Built 1998, John Deere 6850 Self propelled forage harvester, one of the most famous models John Deere ever built, 450 hp, 4 wheel drive, with kernal processor, automatic lubrication, 4249 engine hours, 2943 cutting hours. Current configuration is corn. Price is including the Kemper 360, 8 row rotary corn header. The upgraded 6050 Series arrived on the market in 1998 (a year after John Deere had acquired Kemper). The four-model line-up consisted of the 280hp 6650, 365hp 6750, 440hp 6850 and 505hp flagship 6950. All, except the Cummins-powered 6950, had John Deere PowerTech engines. All except the 6950 use Deeres PowerTech engines with electronic governors and capacities of 8.1 litres and 12.5 litres. The 6950 gets 14-litre Cummins power. The drum in all models remains unchanged from the previous range, at 66cm (30in) wide, though its working speed on the 6950 is up from 1000rpm to 1150rpm, for improved capacity.
